So, it looks like we have a drastic change of plans on our hands.
All those projects that we detailed out for the year...probably not going to happen. Due to some unexpected expenses and given the fact that we'd like to add another little bundle to our family, we are in "Pay off Debt" mode.
So, little projects it will be.
One of the first up...I got the cutest flannel at the Lobby for Hobbies the other day. I think it is going to make some adorable PJ pants for my little monkey. :)
And just because posts with pics are more fun. :) Here is Addie loving her new lap table. The side pockets are perfect for holding books. Totally worth a round of applause!!

Suckers and Pink Band-Aids
My poor little one is sick...she's been running a temp up to 103 again! So, yesterday afternoon, it was off to the pediatrician for us. She hadn't been eating so I was sure she had a sore throat. I expected to get there and for them to treat her for strep.
Her ears looked great, throat looked fine, chest sounded good... Good news, right? WRONG! While the doctor was sure it was just a virus, she sent us to the lab at the hospital to have a blood test done to rule out anything else.
I NEVER want to do that again!!
They took blood from the bend in her elbow and it was clearly painful. I had to hold her, and one nurse held her arm down while the other took her blood.
She screamed! She cried! She sweated and then she screamed some more.
But, blood tests come with suckers. This was her first sucker, and it seemed to make her feel better.
See her sweet little pink band-aid?
We survived!

Project of the Month
Ok, so while I have the visions, my sweet husband is actually the one that does all the manual labor involved in bringing my ideas to reality. I'm a pretty handy girl, but I'm not THAT handy.
Well, in the past I've had a little problem with expectations. :) If you asked my hubs, he'd tell you my expectations areoff the charts a little high. And I guess I would have to admit that sometimes I don't really factor in sleep, eating, downtime, day jobs, etc into the timeline when I am excited for a finished project.
So, this year, in hopes of not overwhelming my darling husband to the point that he quits on me, we're going to be doing a "Project of the Month". It might be big project...in that case the month long timeline will push us to get it completed. In other cases the month might give us a little breathing room.
So, here's what's on tap for 2012!

I'm so excited to start sharing! Of course, these are just the big projects. There'll be recipes and crafts, family posts and more in there too.
Do y'all have a list? What projects have you been putting off or saving for?

Resolutions
I've never been big on New Years Resolutions. I'm not a fan of setting myself up for failure, and it seems that every time I make a resolution I do just that.
Lately, though, I've been feeling a lot of pressure in my day to day. I mean, I'm a working mom with commitments to family, friends and community service...I'm busy! And I wouldn't change a thing about that.
What I would change is how I deal with it all. The more I think about this new year, the more I realize there are so many ways to make life more simple. So, that is my resolution for 2012.
Simplify
We're making some changes here in Casa de Moses. We're going to be getting rid of the clutter, and I CANNOT wait!!
Care to share? What are your resolutions for the new year??

A New Year, A New Blog
It's a new year and a new blog!
In the past, I've tried to get this blog going...but I've never been able to get in a good rhythm with posting. I guess I've felt like what I have to say isn't that interesting. But lately I've really been looking for an outlet...something that will give me a few minutes of quiet time without being a huge commitment whether it be in time or money.
Then it hit me! Duh!! Blogging :) It's free, I get to make the rules, and if I need a break, I can have one and it doesn't hurt anyone.
So, the start of this new year marks the beginning of a new blog. New posts will most likely be an eclectic mix of topics surrounding my sweet family, adventures in parenting, recipes, crafting and anything else that might tickle my funny bone.
Whatever comes of this, I hope that anyone who finds my blog can find some happiness or humor or common ground in my posts. Or maybe they'll think I'm stupid...and that's ok. As long as both of us are happy. :)
Here's to 2012!
